Fire truck visits Kedron Cub Scouts

The Kedron Cub Scouts were lucky to receive a visit from the local fire fighters as part of their badge work for fire safety.

The Cubs learnt about fire safety at home including tips such as not leaving pots unattended on the stove, not overloading electrical power points and always having working smoke detectors.  The cubs also learnt about the importance of not leaving a campfire unattended and always ensuring the camp fire is completely out before leaving.

The fire fighters showed our Cub Scouts all the different tools on the fire truck including the jaws of life, breathing apparatus and the hydraulic ladder.

Our Leader Kelpie dressed in the fire fighter’s uniform before all the Cub Scouts had a turn spraying the fire hose.

Thank you to the crew at the Chermside Fire and Rescue Station.
