Kedron Scout Leader Kimba

Kedron Scout Leaders are highly experienced and not only leading at Kedron Scouts, they are leading the way for Scouts across Australia.

Our Monday Cub Scout Leader Kimba (Julia) has been appointed the Deputy National Commissioner for the Youth Program.   Kimba, along with the National Youth Program team, will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Youth Program.  The Youth Program is the What, Why and How of youth scouting and Kimba’s appointment is testament of the quality of leaders being developed at Kedron Scouts.

In 2018, Kimba received an Australia Day Award in recognition of her valued contribution to the community in the Federal electorate of Lilley.

In addition to Kimba’s new role, Kedron Scouts is proud to congratulate Scout Leader Kythira (Maeve, pictured far left) on being issued her Wood Badge.  There are now 7 Kedron Scout Leaders who have obtained the Wood Badge, for which they have undertaken advanced training in leadership, skills development, scouting fundamentals, Scoutsafe, world scouting and cultural diversity.

At the Queensland Rovers’ St George’s Ball, Kythira also received an Outstanding Services Award for her backpack beds fundraiser as part of her Rover Scout badge work.  Kythira raised money to donate over 20 backpack beds to Base Services in Toowoomba to help those in need.
